Tourist Tax

The Scottish Government have decided to give local councils the option to introduce a tourist tax. Although this has not yet happened, it almost certainly will. The tax will be levied on tourist accommodation businesses, who will have to play tax collector for the Councils. So that's us...

This tax is not yet taken into account when we set our current prices. We have no idea yet about what percentage the Council will decide to grab. As soon as this tax comes into force, we will need to raise our rates, and (IMPORTANT!) that will also affect pre-existing bookings!

Please remember that that will not be us raising our prices, but the Council introducing a tax!
